What's the difference between a manual and an electric standing desk?

Electric desks tend to have a greater weight capacity than manual height-adjustable desks and are smoother to adjust since the motors are doing the heavy lifting. Motors move quietly and have pre-set levels, so there is no need for you to tweak the heights every time you go from sitting to standing. However, a standing desk manual option can still be a great choice for those who prefer a power-free, budget-friendly alternative while still enjoying the benefits of switching between sitting and standing.

Should I choose a manual height adjustable desk or an electric sit stand desk?

A manual standing desk is right for you if you do not plan to adjust your working position often or if access to power is limited in your workspace. The fact that you adjust the desk yourself reduces your carbon footprint, and a manual adjustable desk also limits the amount of heavy equipment you are able to move up and down.

On the upside, manual sit stand desks have no electronics and fewer moving parts that can go wrong. However, since Desky offers a limited warranty on all desks, you will not have to worry about repairs.

Are manual sit stand desks better than electric standing desks?

Manual and electric sit-stand desks look identical, and both do a good job. Both have the same health benefits. Electric desks may work smoothly, but a hand crank means that a sit stand desk manual option is more affordable. A manual desk is not affected by power outages and is cheaper. However, it will require more effort to change your desk position multiple times a day.

Why are manual standing desks cheaper than electric sit stand desks?

The major benefit that a manual standing desk has over an electric one is the cost. A single or dual-motor electric standing desk will cost more due to the motorized shift to sitting or standing heights. The convenience of automation comes at a higher cost, whereas a manual height adjustable table offers a budget-friendly alternative.

How long is the Desky warranty for a manual sit stand desk?

Desky's manual sit-stand desks come with a 3-year limited warranty. During the warranty period, we will repair or replace any parts necessary to correct defects in materials or workmanship. If the part can be easily replaced by you, we will send this to you and provide relevant installation instructions ensuring you get the best manual standing desk experience.

How to use a standing desk correctly?

Of course, there is no one answer to this question. The correct height for your sit-stand desk is going to depend on how tall you are, and to a lesser extent, the shoes you wear, if any. To find the best position for your desk, stand in front of your desk, being mindful of your posture, with your back and neck straight and shoulders back. Slowly raise it until you can rest your forearms flat on the desktop, with your elbows bent at 90 degrees. A manual adjustable table allows you to fine-tune the height effortlessly for optimal comfort and ergonomics.
