If you want to make a bold statement, breaking away from received ideas as to how an office should look, then Pheasantwood is the wood for you. It resembles the tail-feathers of pheasants, ranging from a medium to dark brown, to nearly black, with lighter brown contrasting stripes which are enhanced once varnished. Making it beautiful and desirable.
Walnut is a classic and is used in executive office or formal furniture. So if that’s the impression you’re going for, look no further than walnut’s smooth, high gloss, warm brown, luxurious finish. Usually found in traditional, darker interiors, it also provides the perfect contrast to a contemporary office set-up. In contrast to walnut,
White Oak offers a simple, almost white finish with a tight grain which fits perfectly in today’s minimal workspace. Maybe you don’t want your hardwood desk to be a centerpiece, then choose White Oak and allow its beautiful natural tones to blend perfectly; the epitome of understatement.
Acacia butcher block brings a rich contrast with its dense, alternating grain patterns. Because it is built using the durable butcher block technique, the interlocking blocks showcase a striking range of warm, varied tones that make every single desktop completely unique. It offers a beautifully robust and distinct look that suits both a contemporary workspace and a home office looking for an elegant, hard-wearing centerpiece.
White Ash is frequently used for both home and office furniture since it completely suits today’s Scandi-aesthetic. Offering beige without any clear markings, you get something utilitarian, durable and pleasantly familiar.
Teak immediately says mid-century and makes a statement about your understanding of retro interiors. A firm favourite with G-plan and Ercol, these hardwood desk tops have become a desirable staple in homes and offices everywhere. It has a natural finish and gives an unfussy workspace which cleverly complements both a contemporary white office space or contrasts beautifully with retro garishness. Our grommet desktops include 2 grommet covers for clean and effortless cable management.
Our grommet desktops include two preinstalled grommet covers, an additional method to adjust your cable management with top side openings designed for convenient cable placement. These 80mm channels are strategically positioned just inside the legs of your Desky Minimal Monitor Stand, and purposely designed so your cables drop directly into the Desky Integrated Cable & Power Channel located beneath the desktop. This precision alignment ensures a smooth vertical drop for all your monitor and peripheral wires, keeping them tucked away and out of sight to eliminate visual clutter.
To maintain a seamless minimalist look, we provide black grommets for dark desktops and white grommets for lighter desktop finishes. The grommets feature a clever shutter to protect your cables from fraying and can be closed entirely when not in use to keep your workspace tidy. Whether you prefer a completely solid desktop or the added flexibility of grommets, both options fully integrate with the Desky power and accessory ecosystem.
Desky offers a wide range of hardwood desk tops, sourced from various regions to ensure quality and sustainability. Our Walnut wood comes from America, along with White oak, White ash is sourced from France and White Oak is also sometimes sourced from Germany. We also utilize Teak wood and Saman from Laos, as well as Pheasantwood and Acacia butcher block from responsibly managed forests in Vietnam. Each hardwood is carefully selected and crafted to create durable and beautiful desk tops. With our commitment to responsible sourcing, you can enjoy the natural beauty of hardwood while supporting sustainable practices.
Desky’s wooden desktop range contains no Formaldehyde resin in the manufacturing process. Meaning your home and office will be safe from any harmful chemicals.
Our desktops are air dried, coated with a single-pack lacquer and then air-cured before being packaged up. This process protects the beautiful natural finish of the wood, enhances its natural grains and tones and ensures there are no volatile organic compounds once finalised.
Desky promises that the highest quality materials and manufacturing procedures are met to ensure no harm to users young or old. All of our desktops meet Australian standards and cause no risk to any working environment.
Our clean and sustainable manufacturing procedures maintain the highest level of engineering and craftsmanship resulting in an odour-free clean work surface that won’t stink out your office with a new furniture smell.
Steel Reinforcements: Our Desky wooden desks have vertically inserted bars of reinforced steel beneath the tabletop, further strengthening our desks' already best-in-class strength, stability and thickness. This significant upgrade can also help to reduce wobbles and perhaps eliminate the possibility of warping. The quantity of reinforcements included on each tabletop varies by size, with more being added to longer table tops
Precision Slots: Desky is proactively avoiding even the tiniest risk of warpage with the help of precision cut slots, and our leading 25mm desktop thickness. The slots are precisely cut gaps using CNC technology that are embedded to the underside of table surfaces. These spacers offer the desk adequate flexibility and space to expand and contract organically without putting other portions of the table top under stress.
Threaded Inserts: Desky Desktop Inserts are designed and placed on our desktops with precision engineering to ensure optimal longevity. These machined threads enable precise tabletop installation on the frame, as well as the ability to build and disassemble your Desky as needed. This will ensure that your tabletop lasts a lifetime.
Butcher Block Solid Wood Construction: Our premium Acacia hardwood desktops are crafted using the highly durable and aesthetically rich butcher block technique. This method joins solid wood staves to create a robust, strong desktop that minimizes the risk of warping, ensuring you receive a premium Acacia butcher block desktop that's built to last.
FSC certified: Desky supports responsible forest management and is committed to producing quality products from quality materials that are backed by globally recognised certifications. We source our raw materials from suppliers who have been independently verified as compliant with a chain of custody standards, meaning that materials are produced using legally-sourced wood fibres from certified sustainably managed forests.

Our solid wood desktops are built to last and will actually harden over time. While they can get scratches and dents, many people feel this simply adds character. As the wood ages naturally, its colour may also shift, becoming slightly lighter or darker. Each desktop is finished with a smooth, durable polyurethane coating for protection.
Our Hardwood desktops are made from 100% solid wood and are built to last. The desktop is thicker than most desktops at 25mm and there are metal support braces within the desktop itself to help prevent sagging under load and at longer lengths.
No, unfortunately, our Hardwood desktops are only available in a select range of rectangular sizes and do not have an Ergo Edge option in our mini range, however we do have specific desktops available with Ergo Edges in a number of colours and finishes.
All of our Pheasantwood desktops have a unique front and back 'Live' edge. This means that no two desktops are the same and each edge will have the characteristic undulations of the natural shape of the timber slab it was cut from.
Please note: the edges will vary from square to rounded and each will vary in terms of the slope of the edge and the undulating shape of the edge. The first corner image on the product listing helps to best show how the edge can look https://daesky.com.au/products/dual-hardwood-stand-up-desk
